ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Master Service Agreement governing use of the Net153 Church Management System.

2. Permitted Use

The ChMS may be used only for lawful church administration and related ministry purposes.

3. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

• violate any applicable law;
• infringe intellectual property rights;
• upload malicious software;
• attempt unauthorised access to any system;
• interfere with the operation or security of the service;
• reverse engineer, copy, or modify the software except where permitted by law;
• distribute spam or unsolicited communications;
• use the service for fraudulent or deceptive purposes;
• upload unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive material;
• use another person's account without permission;
• share login credentials with unauthorised persons.

4. User Accounts

Each user must:

• maintain accurate account information;
• keep passwords confidential;
• use strong passwords;
• notify their church administrator of suspected unauthorised access.

5. Security

Customers must not:

• conduct penetration testing without written approval;
• attempt to bypass security controls;
• interfere with other Customers;
• overload or intentionally disrupt the service.

6. Monitoring

Net153 may monitor system performance, logs, and security events for operational and security purposes.

Monitoring is not undertaken for the purpose of supervising the Customer's compliance with POPIA or reviewing Customer content except where necessary to maintain the service or comply with legal obligations.

7. Enforcement

Net153 may investigate suspected violations of this Policy. Where a violation is confirmed, Net153 may:

• suspend affected accounts;
• restrict access;
• require corrective action;
• terminate services for serious or repeated breaches;
• report unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

8. Customer Responsibility

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all of its staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, and authorised users comply with this Policy.

The Customer remains responsible for all activity conducted using its accounts.

9. Changes

Net153 may amend this Policy from time to time upon reasonable notice. Continued use of the services after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
